…still not loaning and foreclosures were up 30% in February. The economy is shrinking, although at a much slower pace than Obama and Pelosi want you to think. And, what do our friendly Democrats say they want to do to end this recession? What do you think? Spend more. Congress is already contemplating another stimulus package after spending 870 billion dollars of “fake” money a few weeks ago. Let’s give more people more free money. That’s what I a…

…le clearly states 10% unemployment is no big deal because unemployment usually lags the economy. By the time that number is reached, the economy has already picked up or is picking up. He uses historical numbers from the 1982 recession as his guideline. However, he is missing one big point. His article, in its key sentence states: “Then the economy began to surge in early 1983, fueled by tax cuts and, more importantly, substantial interest-rate c…

…el that FDR’s New Deal did not end the depression, but instead extended and deepened it. Keynesian economics has not been proven to work at any time. It is a theory. You cannot just continue to throw good money after bad. The recession must run its course. Things will turn around, but we cannot continue to feed the bad news. The monetarists will probably succeed if they are only given the time. One thing that was good about the incoming president…

… seemed on the superficial level to offer continuity, it was actually an ideological reversal, back to the Liberal wing of the Republican Party. Though he lambasted his opponent Michael Dukakis, tarring him with the “Liberal” label, which Reaganism had turned into a dirty word, Bush himself was every bit a Progressive. His admitted trouble with “the vision thing” prevented him from continuing with Reagan’s unfinished work: shrinking government, e…

… to what it was in the Clinton’s era but this argument fails on three important points. The first is that Clinton did increase tax rates in the first two years of his administration but the economy was already coming out of recession plus what is missing is that in the 90’s, massive free trade agreements along with capital gain tax cuts that were enacted after 1994 midterm election represented significant tax cuts for investors and most America…

…tax cuts for the poor, infrastructure projects to rebuild roads, bridges and highways which traditionally and correctly is an obligation of the states, and various other liberal projects all disguised as a means of ending the recession. The only thing that is guaranteed by this package is that a small portion of it will be paid for by tax increases on the rich. I have no idea who will pay for the rest. Maybe the next ten generations of Americans….

…nt. Today, we’re still home to the world’s most productive workers. We’re still home to the world’s most innovative companies. But for most Americans, the basic bargain that made this country great has eroded. Long before the recession hit, hard work stopped paying off for too many people. Fewer and fewer of the folks who contributed to the success of our economy actually benefited from that success. Those at the very top grew wealthier from thei…

The White House struck back Tuesday at former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, saying more people in America are on food stamps under President Obama because of policies promoted by Mr. Gingrich and other Republican leaders. “This country is emerging from the worst recession since the Great Depression, the greatest economic and financial crisis of our lifetimes,” said presidential spokesman Jay Carney. “The economic policies that helped create that …

It is not just about winning the election; it is about ideology for the left truly believes that Keynesian on steroids actually worked to save us from a Great Depression and will save us from the upcoming recession. Democratic key to victory will be the get out the vote. With many minorities reeling from the recession, the enthusiasm for Obama has been stifled, in particular among minorities. Democratic strategy will match …

2009 is over. Probably the worst year in my adult life since 1991. That recession almost cause my business to go under. Thank God that this one has not effected me as badly. But, there are many out there that have been effected by this recession in any number of ways. There are the unemployed which would do anything for a decent job, there are business owners that would do anything to just break even; and, there are homeo…
