…is going to be here. And we’re going to rebuild, and we’re going to be stronger than we were before… I want the people of New York to be an example to the rest of the country, and the rest of the world, that terrorism can’t stop us.” I hope this time the rest of the world is listening. During his first term Cantor served as Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare. Later in his career he was a member of The House Financial Services Committee, the House International Relations Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee. Like Tim Pawlenty, Eric…

…. Will he bring them back to the United States and have them tried in the American judicial system, or will he let potential terrorists go free, maybe back to their own countries where they can get back into the profession of terrorism. Many bad things happened at Guantanamo, but closing it is not the answer. Maybe just stopping the controversial interrogation techniques that went on there? I for one do not want terrorists, alleged or otherwise, …

I ‘m sure a great many of us wished someone a better year than the one before when offering New Years salutations. It’s something we all hope for especially in these troubling times. But will 2012 be a better year than 2011? Well if you believe all the nonsensical hype around the Mayan calendar ending and the foretelling of doom and destruction…No it won’t be a good year. But we don’t need any mystical mumbo jumbo all we need to do is read th…

When President Ronald Reagan first coined the phrase “The Evil Empire” he was of course referring to the Soviet Union. But one thing we can all be sure of is that time changes things…while the Soviet Union is no more you can be sure Russia is still trying to claw its way back as a functioning world power. But like I said times change and in today’s times the “Evil Empire” refers to the “Dynamic Duo” of evil; Iran and North Korea. Despite numer…

“Remember, there was no Palestine as a state. It was part of the Ottoman Empire” until the early 20th century.” “I think that we’ve had an invented Palestinian people who are in fact Arabs, and who were historically part of the Arab community. And they had a chance to go many places, and for a variety of political reasons we have sustained this war against Israel now since the 1940s, and it’s tragic.” Newt Gingric…

“No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.” That now famous quote is attributed to the colorful General George S. Patton. When you think about it there is a lot of truth in what he said. Unfortunately it’s also easier said than done. The cold, hard facts are, in wars people die. Today, November 11th is Veterans Day, a day we have put aside to honor…

Craig Covello is an avid reader of this column. He has contributed a few articles. Here is his response to my article entitled. “Lucky Ties.” If Harm Comes Our Way Two days ago, I commented on Frank DeMartini’s article entitled “Lucky Ties” – “Frank: Nicely said. But I have a different take on it. I don’t think the conservatives need to worry about swinging moderates their way in…

Through no luck of the TSA another terrorist plot was thwarted on Christmas Day. Another lunatic Muslim Extremist attempted to blow himself up on an international flight from Europe to Detroit. The passengers of Northwest Flight #253, seeing what was happening, immediately jumped the suspect as he tried to ignite his explosive device. Apparently, it was just in time and 290 plus people are still alive. And what does the TSA and Ms. Janet Napol…

“When Johnnie Comes Marching Home” On March 23rd 2003 US forces along with coalition troops first set foot on Iraqi soil with orders to destroy the Iraqi army. Two weeks later on April 9th allied forces triumphantly drove into the Iraqi capital of Bagdad. On Friday October 21st, 2011 President Barack Obama told the United States people and the world that all US ground forces, some 50 thousand troops, will be out of Iraq by year’s end; thus endi…
