…on, it is just another example of a government program that did not work contrary to what I said in a prior column. To begin with, the government mistook the popularity of the program and only allocated one billion dollars of stimulus money to the bill. That money ran out in less than two weeks. Then, Congress immediately allocated another two billion dollars. That money is running out in less than four weeks. Another Big Government miscalculatio…

President, it has to happen today, Obama is up to his tricks again. In February, the stimulus bill had to be passed immediately or disaster was waiting. “Cap and Trade” had to pass immediately or another crisis would occur. Now, it’s time for healthcare. The House must pass a health care bill this week or the American people will be in for another disaster. So, Obama asks and Congress obeys! Here we have another 1,000 plus page bill winding its …

… in the best interests of the country. As you know, President Obama said during the 2008 election, we are in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Of course, Vice President Biden, just last week, said that the stimulus was not working because the economy was worse off than the Administration believed. How you can reconcile those two statements is pretty much beyond me. But, again that is the topic of another column. Why is this bi…

…a one line email from my friend Frank DeMartini entitled, ‘The Unemployment Rate’. It read, “It’s at 10.2%….Need I say more….” For the past several months, Frank and I have gone back and forth about the merits of the Stimulus Package, and of Kensyean Economics in general. After considering how lucky I am to not be a member of this rather unfortunate club, I wrote the following as a response to Frank. Please take a look and let’s talk abo…

… of these circumstances, the use of the word hero is trivialized. A deeper problem is that ides of myth, legend and story hold a society’s culture together. The concept of the hero is central to these. By misapplying the hero label and refraining from using it when needed takes our culture in the wrong direction. I hope we can recover the sense of propriety about who we call a hero and what they did to be considered brave before it’s too late. A …

…of the Obama Coalition”, Thomas Edsall, by pushing “takers” into a non-working, entitlement, nanny state, socialistic philosophical ideology. Republicanism is not lost but it is certainly a candidate for a “Progressive Lite” label….or what as “Congress is Useless” all about? http://www.hollywoodrepublican.net/2011/11/congress-is-useless/ And all that is supported in academia today is under the myth of “academic freedom”. Collectivism and totalit…

Scientists in giant panda suits attend to the needs of a cub. Perhaps Pres. Obama can borrow their costumes as he shills for his Stimulus II menu of handouts. I keep waiting for the panda bear to replace the donkey as the official symbol of the Democratic Party. Pres. Obama continues to tour the country pandering to every special interest group which might have a special interest in federal government handouts, and promising that everything will…

…ood primer for all of the reasons to go back to the Moon and to continue space exploration. I will not repeat most of them, but I will say that the expense is worth it. It is worth it in more than national pride. It is a real stimulus package. It will create jobs. It will create new technological advancements. And, it will do so over a number of states. The beginnings of the program are already active in 11 different states. So, I say to Preside…

… The program, known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, has more than doubled in cost since 2008. The government cites high unemployment, rising food prices and an expansion of the food stamp program in the 2009 stimulus bill as reasons for the spike in the number of people receiving the benefit. And the president’s spokesman added Republican-backed policies to that list. “The economic policies that contributed to the Great Recessio…

…the Finance Committee and fill out paperwork. This is ruffling more than a few feathers, and there are calls for the government to audit the account. Because, as demonstrated in the housing crisis management and Obama’s stimulus, things get better when government gets engaged. Naturally, everyone involved wants a piece of the pie. The drummers have been especially hard hit; someone (after my own heart) sneaked in and poked holes in the skin…
