… Not one of the candidates for public office this year spoke of federalism. Neither side of the debate centered on giving power back to the states and limiting the size of the federal government. Obama spoke of 700 billion in new spending and promised tax cuts to 95% of the American people. It is impossible to increase the size of government that dramatically and still lower taxes. The deficit will be increased exponentially. Senator McCain did n…

A two-man race? Gingrich and Romney mano-a-mano While the fight for the Republican Party nomination seems to have crystallized, congealed or coagulated into a highly personal blood-match between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, it can also be seen as the continuation of a struggle that has rocked the GOP for the last fifty years. The Republican Party has not been truly united since the days of the paternalistic and ideologically neutral Eisenhower…

…class envy. Read between the lines and it has become painfully obvious that this president appears to be nothing more than a front man for powerful unions with global aspirations. Unions with bosses who believe they are the new, unelected policy makers and social architects. Just last week, the Wall Street Journal published an editorial written by ex-union boss Andy Stern. And this week, on queue, Obama’s speech indeed mirrored Stern…

…y asking what they can do to help me. But even though all those personalities are surrounding me, I know when it gets closer to my time, they will all work together to make it as peaceful as possible for me. So, I learned a new meaning for The Clean House. Ryan is a very responsible young man who has his sights set on a political career. He actually pays attention to what is going on in the area and is beginning to get a grip of what Greene Co…

… Coltrane, Patti Lupone, etc. Most of the distinguished guests supported Obama by donating money to his Presidential campaign. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ8FOGkii1k The Mutual admiration Society did sprinkle in a little Newt in an effort to keep it “non-partisan;” however, Republican-mocking Stephen Colbert, skewered Gingrich giving it that old time anti-Republican feel when he introduced honoree Yo-Yo Ma, stating “Mr. Pre…

The Big Apple – Two Separate Cities New York is two cities, one run by bureaucrats who are slowing strangling the life of the city and those 99 percent no one talks about, the producers responsible for keeping the city alive. Forget Zuccotti Park, the real 99 percent who deserve our thanks are those who struggle everyday against a stagnating economy, government edicts, high local and state taxes as well bureaucratic mandate. It is the owner of …

Police Remove Protesters from Zuccotti Park New York City police in riot gear swept into a Lower Manhattan park to remove Occupy Wall Street protesters early today following similar moves that shut down camps in Oakland, California, and Portland,Oregon. Demonstrators “should temporarily leave and remove tents and tarps,” New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office said today on its Twitter feed. “Protesters can return after the park is cleared.” H…

I am a child of the 60’s and 70’s. I was born on Long Island, New York and raised there during that turbulent era. It was a time filled with the desire for peace and the search for love. It was a time when the United States was at a crossroads. It was also the time of many of my fondest memories. In fact, the period from 1968-1975 was a time that shaped the future of the United States. It was the last time the country was in great turmoil. We …

…give both sides a place to voice their opinions. There is one weekly column in the “New Yorker” called The Talk of the Town. It is a column that expresses the editorial content of the periodical and also various tidbits about New York and what is current in the “Big Apple.” Last week there was a section of the column called “So Long, Pardner” (sic) in which, Hendrik Hertzberg made a case for the dissolution of the United States. As I was reading …

Chaz Bono As you my loyal fans may know, I have really bad taste in television. I love to watch the worst, most brain dead stuff. Now that I’m pregnant, it’s gotten worse. I’m the only person in the world excited to see the new Adam Sandler movie, Jack and Jill. I have not gone so far as to savor the NBC show Whitney, but give me time because I am sure that it will grow on me. The fact that I keep trying scares me. I love to watch ABC’s “…
