…the collapse of the Berlin Wall. If you destroy the incentive to achieve from human beings, you are left with empty food shelves and a subsistence lifestyle. But, everyone will be equally poor. Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher Is that what American Exceptionalism has come to? Is that what the whiners and protesters in Occupy Wall Street want? …ainst his democratic opposition over the eight years of his term. But no one stood up before congress and the American people and insulted the president to his face. So my question is this….who’s running the Republican Party? Margaret Thatcher said, “Consensus is the absence of leadership”. It appears today’s Republicans have taken that to heart. Since the election of Barack Obama to the presidency the Grand Old Party has become the Grand Invisib…

… seemed on the superficial level to offer continuity, it was actually an ideological reversal, back to the Liberal wing of the Republican Party. Though he lambasted his opponent Michael Dukakis, tarring him with the “Liberal” label, which Reaganism had turned into a dirty word, Bush himself was every bit a Progressive. … of these circumstances, the use of the word hero is trivialized. A deeper problem is that ides of myth, legend and story hold a society’s culture together. The concept of the hero is central to these. By misapplying the hero label and refraining from using it when needed takes our culture in the wrong direction. I hope we can recover the sense of propriety about who we call a hero and what they did to be considered brave before it’s too late. A …

…l nations on an even playing field. In fact, it can be argued that this was the main argument of President Obama’s speech before the General Assembly today. It is idealistically based socialism pure and simple. Unfortunately, Margaret Thatcher said it best. “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” And, that may be what is happening right now. The Fed cannot print its paper money fast enough. The realism…

I continue to hope that President Obama does not change the current government here to the point where it cannot be fixed and socialism becomes its core. Remember, Margaret Thatcher said, “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” And, that just might be what is happening in my homeland right now. …
