Nothing To Write

September 21, 2014
Current Events

I’m sitting in my hotel room in Thailand and trying to come up with a column. Unfortunately, I cannot think of anything to write about. This might sound like a classic case of writer’s block, but it really isn’t. The truth of the matter is; there is nothing new to write about. Current events right now are just more of the same.

The Gilded Age

September 14, 2014
Gilded Age

The Gilded Age is defined as the period from about 1870 to roughly 1900. This is a period that is rarely taught in school – at least when I went to school. And, it is a period in which the United States was pretty much molded into the country we have today. It was period of massive accumulation of wealth as a result of the industrial revolution. And, it was a period of massive growth of poverty as a result of immigration and labor practices of the new industrial giants.

Sotloff – Another American Dead

September 5, 2014
Steven Sotloff

SIS must be stopped. It is clearer every day that ISIS must be stopped. Rhetoric from Joe Biden will not do it. Lack of action from President Obama will not do it. Leadership is needed in the United States right now. Leadership like George Bush I showed after Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990.

Obama has “No Plan” for ISIS

September 1, 2014
Obama Incompetency

Not, having a plan is not a solution. Even, John Boehner, told Obama last week, Congress would support military intervention against ISIS. For six years, Obama has stating that Congress does nothing to support him. Boehner threw you the lifeline. Now, President Obama, please make a decision for the good of the country. Accept that the world is not Utopian. Start killing people that want to kill us. Follow the example of Israel. Do not follow the example of Neville Chamberlin. We’re already at war, whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

The Lonely Planet

August 9, 2014
Lonely Planet

This is truly a Lonely Planet and is becoming a lonelier one mostly because of technology.  Every now and then I will write an article off topic.  This one has nothing to do with politics.  It has to do more with Sociology.  Actually, the Sociology of our times.  And, maybe some thoughts about where we […]
