Jill Stein has decided she is going to be the savior of the left. She has single-handedly determined that a recount in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania is going to save the world from a Donald Trump Presidency. And, she has determined that raising money from the general public is the way to do it. There are no ulterior motives at play here, right?
So far, Jill Stein has raised approximately 6.2 million dollars towards her campaign to stop Trump. Now, you may wonder why she needs so much money. From what I’ve read so far, only about 2.5 million dollars is needed to authorize the re-counts. Why all the extra money?
Jill Stein and the Green Party say it’s for legal fees. As a lawyer, I can tell you that’s an awful lot of money for legal fees. Assuming she raises 6.5 million, that will be four million dollars for legal fees. With an average lawyer charging about 350 per hour for services, that is more than 11,000 hours of legal time. The average lawyer bills about 1,800 hours a year. So, this amounts to more than five lawyers working a full year on this re-count.
Now, let’s keep in mind the recount must be done and finalized in less than one month! The Electoral College votes on December 19. So, even if you have ten lawyers working on this full time for one month, you will spend less than 100,000 USD in legal fees! Unless I’m really stupid, that is way less than four million dollars. In fact, it is reasonable to say that there is no way four million dollars is going to be spent on legal fees.
So, where is all the money going? There are only two possibilities. One is the Green Party. The other is Jill Stein’s pocket. Yes. Jill Stein’s pocket.
Both of these are not cool. The election is finished. Donald Trump won. There is almost no mathematical possibility of changing all three states which is the only way this re-count would matter. So, the only conclusion anyone can come to is that Jill Stein is lining her own pockets. I really don’t think she cares enough about the Green Party to give them the money.
So, the savior of the working class is doing this to either get out of debt or to make herself rich. There is no rationale explanation. I wonder what all the people who voted for her are thinking now. Are they happy with this? Is it all part of their destruction of the Establishment. Or, will they wake up tomorrow morning and really understand what is going on here. Will they realize she is just as much of a hypocrite as they call everyone else.
I just wonder!
