The Obama War on The Media

220px-Bob_WoodwardA year ago, I wrote a piece asking if Obama was morphing into the next Herbert Hoover or Richard Nixon but I have come to the conclusion; he was and still is both.  While the media have always favored Democratic Presidents over Republicans, no candidate has ever been as worshiped by the media as Barack Obama, which is one reason the failure of Obamanomics have been dismissed or ignored.  Obama has managed to screw up a recovery that began some six months into his administration and turned it into the worst recovery in history and now he faces a double dip recession.  (Even though, it could be argued that we never truly recovered and his recovery has been propped up by Fed easy money but I have covered this ground already.)

The real threat of Obama is his Nixon side.  Obama and his team quite frankly are thugs when it comes to politics and with a compliant media, he gets away with it.  His most recent brush with Bob Woodward, who has consistently called Obama out on the sequester, is only the latest example of Team Obama’s Thug tactics.

There were a few political observers who noted this in 2008 but for the most part this side of the Obama’s campaign was ignored.  In 2008, Michael Barone wrote, “Obama’s supporters who found the campuses congenial and Obama himself, who has chosen to live all his adult life in university communities, seem to find it entirely natural to suppress speech they don’t like and seem utterly oblivious to claims this violates the letter and spirit of the First Amendment.  In this campaign, we have seen the coming of the Obama thugocracy, suppressing free speech, and we may see it’s flourishing in the four or eight years ahead.”

During the 2008 campaign, Barone detailed how a Radio station in Chicago got the Obama treatment when it featured Stanley Kurtz, who was investigating Obama’s true relationship with unrepentant Bill Ayers.  Barone noted, “Obama fans jammed WGN’s phone lines and sent in hundreds of protest emails.  The message was clear to anyone who would follow Rosenberg’s example.  We will make trouble for you if you let anyone make the case against The One.”  The lesson was clear; any radio station who dared put on Kurtz would receive similar treatment.  Barone added, “Other Obama supporters have threatened critics with criminal prosecution.  In September, St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce warned citizens they would bring criminal libel prosecutions against anyone who made statements against Obama that were false.”  Could you imagine if a local Republican attorney had posed a similar threat, how quickly the word fascists would have been stated?

The Obama war against Woodward is no different than previous wars against Fox news or Rush Limbaugh as Obama’s allies like Media Matters have attempted to get both Fox and Limbaugh off the air.  Obama’s team has declared Fox News an illegitimate news organization as a mean to isolate Fox and make sure other news organizations didn’t follow up on Fox scoops.  (If you don’t buy into this, simply compare how much the media covered Benghazi or didn’t compared to Fox and much of the conservative media. The Benghazi tragedy was swept under the rug and much of the American public has been denied the real truth behind the attack this past September 11th.)

Never mind that MSNBC has essentially became an appendage of Team Obama and hasn’t been a serious broadcast network since the middle of the last decade but it is Fox that the Left has gone to war with.  In the case of Woodward, it is different in one respect for Woodward is considered one of the Deans of the Washington press corp.  He has been one of the stars of the Washington Post since Watergate where he has broken stories in both Democratic and Republican Administrations.  The attack on Woodward signals this administration will brook no opposition and already, others within the media are taking their cue from Team Obama and attacking Woodward as opposed to examining the effect of Obama’s policy on the rest of us.  So while the Obama attack machine is now geared at one of their own, Drudge ran the following headline, “Biggest drop in Income in 20 years.”  That headline tells the story where we may be headed economically and Obama’s policy is the primary reason.  It is too bad that the vast majority of Americans who get their news from the established media won’t read much about the real story behind the dismal recovery of the past five years.

There is a complimentary view, much more sinister. President Obama is superb at demagoguery. This guy, this President, is better than former “Slick Willie” President Bill Clinton, in all things, history will show. The “Sequester” happened, and the Republicans must shoulder the blame again? Only if we parse the wisdom of “it is not the truth that counts but rather how it appears.”

“The Transformation of America”, a takeover, similar to the communist takeover of Czechoslovakia, without a shot being fired, as Jan Kozak explains, in “And Not a Shot Is Fired”, how the people of Czechoslovakia were manipulated into voting themselves into slavery, remember our 2012 election? Most of the same methods, “Pressure from Above, Pressure from Below”, and then (“Inside-out”), described in this book are now, at work in the United States today. Are there elements of “good” or does the “truth beget hatred”? “It is not the truth that counts, it is how it appears.” And the instrument of “truth” is media?

In 2008 we were warned. “President Reagan’s policy destroyed the Soviet Union by crippling their economy and bringing them to their knees, is it unrealistic, to see this is exactly what we are now seeing in America” as the “Sequester” metastasizes through the media. Woodward is a breath of fresh air, and as Woodward goes, so goes our Republic. This, at the onset, is strikingly similar to the Hitler-led NSDAP, extremes for hyperbole, National Socialist German Workers Party, takeover of Germany in the 1930′s.

George Washington warned that we should “…guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism…” We focus on the media and ignore, at our peril, the genius of Edward Bernay’s, a Woodrow Wilson acolyte, and the brilliant applicant of Bernay’s strategy, “the scientific engineering of consent”, by non-other than Paul Joseph Goebbels, “inside out” fully exposed in the Sequester aftermath.

It was in the 1945 or’46 uprising in Czechoslovakia where the people at the top had a different agenda and they, a “Shadow Government”, our forty some Tsars, infiltrated the régime of Czechoslovakia.

Think of America today, in this context, our currentism, a culmination of a century of profound to near insane, radical, pervasive progressivism. They were communists and they infiltrated. And then unbeknownst to the average person they orchestrated all kinds of events on the ground, caused chaos, and had the people cry out to the government, a regime who they thought was on their side. ”You’ve got to stop the madness.” This was the onset. It was the beginning of “top down, bottom up, inside out”.

Is this the beginning of “Inside-Out”, Chapter One, “Sequestration”, a much more sinister strategy?
