Democrats – The Party of Hate

Frank DeMartini

Ms. Rachel Maddow – A True Believer in all things Left

A few months ago, I wrote an article about Harry Stein’s Book, “No Matter What They’ll Call this Book Racist.”  In that book, Harry Stein makes the case that anyone who takes on the race issue is immediately branded a racist by the Liberals in this country.  Well, get ready to start calling me a racist.  Well, not really a racist, but a hatemonger.  Because I am going to make a thesis right now, that the real purveyors of hate is the Democratic Party.

Wednesday, when I was perusing Facebook groups, I went to the largest Republican Group on Facebook, “Positively Republican,” which is owned and controlled by my friend and motivational speaker Chris Widener.  Positively Republican has a membership on Facebook of over 500,000 followers.  This is by any definition a large group.  Well, on Wednesday, Chris Widener decided to post something a little personal and it hit home with me.  Here is his exact status update:

When my daughter posted that she didn’t like Obama for President, some people accused her of racism and not liking black people. I guess they didn’t know her husband, our son-in-law, who we love dearly, is black. Why do people resort to that stuff?

I can almost guarantee that most of these people thought about race first and when you think about race before anything else, you are a racist.  This, my friends, is the Democratic Party.  It is Chris Matthews.  It is Rachel Maddow.  It is all of them.  Well, not all because then I would be going down to their level.

Tim Ross, a regular contributor to this column and one of my partners, herein, wrote an article a few weeks back entitled, “Jewish Nazi, Jon Lovitz.”  In that article, Tim relayed an experience he had in which he was driving and the following happened, in his own words:

A car pulled up alongside mine out of turn and the first thing I thought was, “What a jerk!”  I looked over to give a nasty glare and saw a man in the passenger’s seat telling me to roll down my window.  As  I did, I noticed that he was a Hispanic male in his early 30′s with a shaved head and tattoos on his arms and neck.  This thug made the Nazi Salute and screamed, “Heil Hitler!”

What?!

I looked over at the driver and saw it was a large black male.  The Hispanic male kept going, “You hate niggers?”

Really?!

Apparently, the man who made this statement had noticed Tim’s Mitt Romney bumbersticker on his car and decided that Tim couldn’t have been voting for Romney because of policy issues but because he was a racist – pretty simple huh.

But, this article is not about Racism.  It is about the Democratic Party’s hate; their hate of everything they disagree with and therefore, that they have become exactly what they accuse Conservatives of.

Controversial Senatorial Candidate from Missouri – Todd Akin

Let’s talk about MSNBC for a minute.  Yesterday, I happened to switch to this bastion of fairness and I saw Rachel Maddow herself.  Ms. Maddow with a total smugness and almost glee stated  the man most closely associated with misogynist Todd Akin would be speaking at the convention.  Of course, she was talking about Paul Ryan as the two have been associates in Congress for years and do have similar views on certain issues.  Although, I must state for the record that Paul Ryan does not agree with the statement made by Akin last week that got him into so much trouble.  Watching Maddow when she made this statement and looking at the glee in her eye almost made me throw up.  This women hates and she hates everyone that disagrees with her.  It is blatantly obvious.

Since I bring up Todd Akin, let’s talk about the alleged War on Woman – a prime talking point of the Democratic Party these days.  When Mr. Akin made his comment about rape and abortion last week, he was not speaking for the Republican Party.  He was speaking from his own personal views.  And, for the record, in my opinion, and in the opinion of most Conservatives I know, he was wrong.  In fact, immediately, the main stream of the Republican Party and the fringes of the party came out against him and told him to withdraw from the race.  Not one Republican to my knowledge came out in favor of these statements.  In fact, the RNC immediately withdrew their financial support to his campaign.

And, yet, we are the party of hate.  Because one person does something stupid against women, it is fodder for the Democratic Party for days, weeks, ad infinitum.

John Edwards – A true believer in the equality of the sexes.

Well, let’s talk about the Democrats for a second.  Who are the true misogynists here?  Do I need to remind anyone about Bill Clinton and a cigar; Anthony Weiner and for a lack of a better word, his weiner; and John Edwards the man who fathered a son while his wife was dying of breast cancer.  This is one wonderful trio isn’t it.  And, I’m sure they all completely respect women.  In fact, they respect women so much that they treat them like sex objects at every turn.  And, yet, Republicans are the party of hate.

One more example, because this could go on forever.  Let’s talk about gay marriage and the Chik-Fil-A debacle for a minute.  These have been the topics of heated debates among friends on Facebook and other social media for a long time.  Well, I no longer have some friends because of my stated positions on them.  I personally believe that the owners of Chik-Fil-A can do anything they want with their own personal money.  We do have a guarantee of Free Speech and Freedom of Association in this country, don’t we?  And, in contravention people who favor gay marriage have the right to protest Chick-Fil-A for the same Constitutional guarantees.

However, that’s not what the debate became.  The debate became liberals calling anyone that expressed the above view point hatefilled.  They stated that the right was full of hate and that they should not have those opinions.  I’m sorry, but this is the opposite of reality.  If you are taking away someone’s right to say what they believe because you disagree with them, you are the one who is full of hate.  You can not tolerate the other side of the argument, you are hateful.  It doesn’t matter whether you are right or wrong, you are hateful.

Frederick Douglass – Republican and anti-slavery hero

To suppress free speech is a double wrong. It violates the rights of the hearer as well as those of the speaker.
Frederick Douglass

And, this is what the Left in this country has become.  It has become the party of hate.  But, yet this is what they call us on the right.  I don’t understand why we can’t get this argument across.  I don’t hate anybody.  I disagree with people’s positions and I argue intelligently with them, but I don’t hate.  Yet, I am hated and will be hated for writing this article.

Does the word hypocrite come to mind?

Thank you for saying what I feel. I was high fiving every point you made. You are so right, about everything. Too bad the only people that will read this are the ones that agree. Those haters will read only the headline, then start up the hatemobile!

    Frank,

Great article! Just two points, then I’ll go:

    1) I could replace Maddow and Akin with O’Rielly and Obama, and have the same argument in the other direction. Your opinion is just that…

    2) if, “Not one Republican to your knowledge came out in favor of these statements” then why is there a plank in your party’s platform that denies abortion with no exceptions? Sounds like you’re trying to have it both ways….just saying.

    You have a great weekend!!!!!

George: Isn’t the point of the article that they keep saying we are the party of hate and don’t look at themselves? I’m not saying either party is. I’m saying, I’m sick and damn tired of people labeling me a hate monger because of what I believe in, when as you know, it is far from the truth.

PS: Correct the typo. Don’t think you meant Obama? LOL

    • Tom Donelson on August 31, 2012 at 8:35 pm

There is no comparison or moral equivalence. between what O’Riley says about Obama and what MSNBC says about conservatives or Romney.

Also taking a position on abortion is not the same as talking about legitimae rape, which Aikin talk about and was condemned for. Being pro-Life is not being hateful or stupid whereas Aikin statement was.

Besides, if we are going to play the abortion game, well, we have a President candidate who voted for killing a baby who survived abortion when a state legislators, so who is more extremist?

The word hypocrite does come to mind. Unfortunately, it comes in the form of calling the Left a “party of hate” because of the views of a (left swinging) reporter and the actions of a few democrats when you are trying to clear the right’s name for essentially the same thing.

I think you offer some good observations, I certainly don’t hate you for offering your opinions.

I don’t think this country has a chance as long as both the Left and the Right will do anything to disrepute the other just for the sake of making their party the better intention-ed. That is my opinion.

    • Frank DeMartini on August 31, 2012 at 10:10 am

And, that is the point of my argument. People do not respect other people’s opinions anymore. They just label you the minute you say what you are instead of listening to what you are saying. A very smart Supreme Court justice once said: Freedom of Speech means that I will defend your right say something even if I totally disagree with every word you are saying (paraphrased).

Wow, that’s some twisted logic. So, “hating” people who hate, discriminate against, and persecute gays, blacks, minorities, abortion doctors, and anyone else that the old testament says they should hate…all of a sudden hating THOSE people FOR their hate makes your “hate” equal to their hate.

    Right.

Arriving at that conclusion is like getting from the west coast to the east coast by flying across Asia & Europe.

For the record, calling out people for their hate, is a lot different from actually “hating” them. Hence why you don’t hear a lot of Republicans calling out or “hating” Democrats for all that hateful tolerance of theirs.

These thoughts are an excellent analysis, or a case study of the here and now. They speak to truth but we look to a kinder and gentler America. As much as we all prayed, WWII was not the end of all wars. Why? What we are against is easy. What we are for is an eternal exercise in open-mindedness. And when we are wrong, to pivot, is a miracle.
Respect, freedom and dealing effectively and efficiently, with the small percentage of misery merchants in our culture will not be accomplished by deploying the pervasive odious tools of the radical opposition. All ideologies hold something in common, sacred and something we can all gather in support of. It is the radical, the extreme, in all corners, that distract, efficaciously. And they successfully divert.
Hate can be minimized if discounted, marginalized and supplanted with love. Hate seems to occupy the entitlement mentality, a denial of equal opportunity and an embrace of equal outcome. Our time can be better spent in the context of what “John F Kennedy said, he was a magnificent Democrat, who might be lost in today’s politics, “And so my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” This wisdom runs afoul of selfish, bloated legacy costs and entitlements. The number of households on government assistance is rising, estimated at one-in-six of every American. The number of families that pay no taxes is alarming.” The managed decline of America is no longer a warning, it is a fact. This is the time to pivot, not the time to spend on divisive wedges issue. We can fight for freedom or against hate. The latter diminishes self-determination. The former conquers the latter.
Fredrick Douglas ( “…a Republican, a black, dyed in the wool Republican”) also said “Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them.” And so our job is simple, do not submit! But as F.A. Hayek points out, the “rigidity” the “stop” of William Frank Buckley, Jr., of conservatism (Libertarianism, research Ronald Reagan) is its weakness. Gandhi counters with compromise is good except on fundamentals.
If we are always consumed with the distractions thrown in our way we will never” be the change we seek”, necessary for a better world. We deserve the politicians we elect.
The past obscurity, anonymity modesty of character, expertise, successes, and charitable nature and proficiency of Mitt Romney is due to his humility, core values, focus on objective and not credit. Our greatest leaders focused on the peaceful price, the real prize of peace, the world of the “makers”, of “Freedom”, they didn’t want the job but never turned their country down in a crisis. Victory for them was to never have to do battle again, the fallibility of man disrupted. And they traditionally exited into quite, obscure and hallowed retirement as soon as the country would allow. George Washington comes to mind.
And yet we are counseled that for a Republic to survive, it needs a revolution now and then. It requires leaders and citizens who valued honor, liberty and freedom. A certain unselfishness that puts the life of the Republic before one’s own life is believed to be indispensable. These virtues are thought to preserve and confer political power in a republic. In their absence, the corrupted power that would fill the vacuum would result in tyranny.
