Time is drawing near for me to ship off to Israel. I have a little over 1 month before I will leave, and it’s time for me to start getting all of my ducks in a row. I’m getting very excited for this trip and I’ve been praying a lot about what the Lord wants to teach me during my time there. I desire to grow, just a deeper relationship with my Lord Jesus and to have an understanding that surpasses all knowledge. I’m excited to see the places of the bible and I’m sure that it will have a major effect on my faith. I’m a visual learner anyway.. so, I believe and I am praying that the bible will come alive to me while I’m there. I am praying for a greater leaning on the Holy Spirit, in my life and especially in my prayer life.
The Lord has been gracious to me in His provision. I still do not have all of my funds, but I’m holding fast to the goodness of the Lord and I’m trusting him for all the things that I need. I know that He is my great provider and I can feel my faith growing as time draws closer and I have no choice but to trust him.
Some things that I could use some prayer for:
-I have always had a tender heart, and I know that being in Israel in the mist of two different cultures that adamantly reject Christ is going to be a hard pill to swallow. I have never experienced that before and I foresee that making me really sad.
-Please pray for protection spiritually while I am there. This experience will be unlike anything that I have ever done, and there is a bit of fear that I can feel rising up in certain moments at that thought of going some place so far from home.
-Please pray for my physical strength. There will be lots of walking and hiking! I have had a long history of back problems and at certain times knee problems, so just praying that the Lord will have His hand on both.
- I will be moving out of my current living quarters on Sept 1. I will be couch surfing for 10 days. Please pray for that time. Pray for direction on where to stay during that time. Please pray that I will be able to have wisdom on what to do with my stuff. (Keep it, Store it, Sell it, etc)
- Please pray for the Lord’s financial provision.

I have been there in 1989 – Long story – but please please be careful to not let your head be pie in the sky naive – Enjoy and soak up the history, but hey you will have to really pay attention. When we were in the Russian church looking at the underground cave (birth place of Jesus) there was shooting in the parking lot! Just don’t let the moment cause you to take your eyes off of caution – The areas are certainly hotbeds of concern at this time. Be Safe!
