“The Air Force Academy has set aside an outdoor worship area for Pagans (The term Pagan generally refers to all religions that are not in the Abrahamic (Pertaining to Abraham, the patriarch; as, the Abrahamic covenant) category, the monotheistic faiths.), Wiccans “(Wicca is a modern Pagan religious movement. The other theological positions within Wicca range from monotheism to atheism). “Druids” (A Druid, they performed human sacrifices in the past, were members of the priestly class in Britain, Ireland, and Gaul, and possibly other parts of Celtic western Europe, during the Iron Age) “and other Earth-centered believers, school officials said Monday.”
Separation of Church and State is arguably not a Constitutional mandate. Yet there is a continuing effort to take “Christ” out of Christmas, “God” off of our fiat money and out of our Pledge of Allegiance. Maybe someday it will be extracted from “God Damn” whatever. First one must dilute our religious moral core, once Judeo-Christian”, any religion that does not cause or advocate “harm” will do, then suppress any spirituality in order to repress Conservatism and diminish America (radical progressivism).
“All pretense of trying to win a majority of the white working class (reverse racism) has been effectively jettisoned in favor of cementing a center-left coalition (closer to Fascism and Communism-the end product of socialism) made up, on the one hand, of voters who have gotten ahead on the basis of educational attainment (entitlement) – professors, artists, designers, editors, human resources managers, lawyers, librarians, social workers, teachers and therapists – and a second, substantial constituency of lower-income voters who are disproportionately African-American and Hispanic.” This is the ascendancy of the “takers” over the “makers.”
William F Buckley saw it coming in 1951. Buckley saw the danger of collectivism (another “ism”). So he authored “God and Man at Yale (now the Air Force Academy): The Superstitions of “Academic Freedom” a prediction of serious problems, coming true, of the trajectory and nature of modern conservatism.
Buckley concluded in 1951, a fact today, that academia denied its students any sense of individualism pushing them, like the New York Times article (hyperlink above) 11/27/2011 “The Future of the Obama Coalition”, Thomas Edsall, by pushing “takers” into a non-working, entitlement, nanny state, socialistic philosophical ideology. Republicanism is not lost but it is certainly a candidate for a “Progressive Lite” label….or what as “Congress is Useless” all about?
And all that is supported in academia today is under the myth of “academic freedom”. Collectivism and totalitarianism were associated with Josef Stalin and Mao Tse-tung. Would not our institutions of higher education, (maybe not), dismiss proponents of racism, anti-Semitism, communism (well, except Van Jones), homophobia, Nazism and Islamophobia? And if so, appropriately, this is not academic freedom!
Religion and Economics is at the core our discontent. Intertwined Buckley said “That the duel between Christianity and atheism is the most important in the world.”
“I further believe that the struggle between “individualism and collectivism is the same struggle (the duel between Christianity and atheism) reproduced on another level.” This is found in the Preface to “God and Man at Yale (now the Air Force Academy): The Superstitions of “Academic Freedom”
Back in 1951 Buckley maintained that Ivy League Ivory Towers did not, nor do they now, teach a fair and balanced view of laissez-faire economics. This is the essence of Objectivism and Individualism.
Rather there is a hard core “indoctrination” of Keynesian economics, thoroughly communalist. Thus, today, through President Obama policies, it is leading us down that slippery slope to collectivism. LAT OP-ED11/27/11, A36 “God and man and William F. Buckley.” By Carl T. Bogus
Thus shoot the messenger, William F. Buckley, ignore the evolution of individualism to socialism, the attack on Judeo-Christian spirituality or any religion that abhors “harm to others”, and the rise of atheism in mild but ever more increasing radical forms, now invading The Air Force Academy.
