The honest journalist, those with integrity and an ethical compass under the objective imperative of gathering the “who”, “what”, “when”, “where”, and “why” of an important news story should ask themselves why the following story went largely unnoticed.

Casey Brezik tried to assassinate Missouri Governor Jay Nixon (D) on September 14, 2010 at the Metropolitan Community College’s Penn Valley campus, before a scheduled press conference by trying to slash the Governor’s throat because “he (Missouri Governor Jay Nixon) was a top ranking official.”

When legitimate, important, meaningful, political and “alleged” criminal news is ignored, censored, buried or spun, a little piece of liberty, the 1^st Amendment, freedom of the press, a sacred tool of journalism, is lost.  Right before the election in November 2010 there was an assassination attempt on Missouri Governor Jay Nixon (D). There are only fifty some governors.  Why did we not hear about this, especially considering the proximity to elections?  One may be surprised, and then maybe not.

Revolution to Casey Brezik, apparently meant slashing the throat of a middle-aged dean at a community college.  The 22-year-old Brezik is accused of attacking 55-year-old Al Dimmitt Jr., the dean of instruction at Metropolitan Community College’s Penn Valley campus, before a scheduled press conference by Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon yesterday.  He apparently mistook the dean, who was looking for police help with Casey, for Governor Jay Nixon, and stabbed the dean several times slashing his throat (the dean survived).  As with the Tucson tragedy of January 2011, Casey Brezik was tackled and subdued by bystanders.  When push comes to shove, it is often “We the People” who step into the breech.  That is America.

Why was the media not covering an assassination attempt on Missouri’s Democratic governor Jay Nixon by 22-year-old Casey Brezik, a story exposed and covered by The Kansas City Star?  Why has the limited coverage since not prompted the same level of speculation as the attack perpetrated by Jared Lee Loughner?  Could it be because he, Casey Brezik, is a reported environmental extremist, radical Islamist, anti-capitalist, anti-Christian, anti-Zionist, an acolyte of Ernesto Che Guevara, a left wing crazy person?

On Casey’s Facebook page he quotes Che:

“Our every action is a battle cry against imperialism, wherever death shall surprise it. Let it be welcome if our cries for battle are heard by one receptive ear if our hand reaches out to take up our arms.”  Ernesto Che Guevara.

In Casey Brezik’s own Facebook words, “How are we the radicals left to confront the new right if we avoid all confrontation altogether?”  Casey was arrested for battling police in Canada in 2010 at the G20.  Again, his words from Facebook “We ran from the cops, was tackled, spit on an officer, was arrested, charged and deported.  Mission Accomplished.”

Are we proud of anyone who spits on policemen?  In January 2011, in a twenty-four hour period nationally, eleven officers of the peace had been shot.  Something is happening in America.  Pray tell-what do we think it is- ponder the Weather Undergound, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Cloward and Piven, Casey Brezik and Jared Lee Loughner.

When Brezik appeared Wednesday, 9/15/2010 in Jackson County Circuit Court, onlookers could see an anarchist symbol tattooed on his right hand and a star, hammer and sickle tattooed on his left hand.  Brezik has battled mental illness for years, relatives said Wednesday.  His biological father, Raymond Florio, said Brezik talked about “big brother watching” and harbored anti-government views.  Diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 2006, Brezik spent time in at least four mental hospitals, according to court records filed by his mother in Greene County, Mo., in 2007.

The bias in Missouri might be analyzed by referring to the report; “The Modern Militia Movement” which was purportedly “leaked” in the state of Missouri.  The report was to be used by various police authorities as a way to spot potential domestic terrorists involved in paramilitary militias.  The report was produced by MIAC, or the Missouri Analysis Information Center, contends that some of the criteria for spotting potential terrorists includes literature that supports Ron Paul and Libertarians.

Please read “Academically Adrift.”  The insight is astounding.  Probably, perhaps, conceivably the more important issue for our Republic and the “freedom” it stands for is the “who”, “what”, “when”, “where”, and “why” this is why a diminished America is  allowed to happen.  It is alarmingly simple.  A radically biased progressive national cadre of journalists, press, reporters and correspondents felt compelled to quash, nullify and annul the “truth” surrounding the attempted assassination by an environmental extremist, radical Islamist, anti-capitalist, anti-Christian, anti-Zionist, an acolyte of Ernesto Che Guevara, a true left wing crazy person just before an important election.  This was an election reportedly favoring conservatism (a subsequent political slaughter according to President Barrack Obama).  Further this demonstrated the “insanity” within the radical progressive camp in general, and Casey Brezik in specific. This story had nothing to do with principled Democrats, Independents, and Libertarians et al.  No, but also this story, contrary to the Tucson Rampage, could not as easily be twisted, perverted, distorted into a Conservative, Republican malevolent, mean, nasty and wicked untrue aberration.

There is a biased “dark side” to the “Hope and Change” some desire.  There are those who will not be happy until they can finally embrace one horrible example of an extreme right aberration even if the sane objective is universal sanity.  There objective is just to bask in the sunlight of “I told you so.”  We seem to live in a world where the likes of the Former Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat achieved little for world peace but was awarded the Nobel Peace Price. A world where Vice President Al Gore was awarded a “piece” of the Nobel Peace Price for his work on a largely discredited climate change controversy.  In a world where a very deserving Noble Laureate, Liu Xiaobo remains under house arrest for his substantive accomplishments toward peace.  And when we award the Noble Peace Prize to an unaccomplished someone in the unreasonable expectation of “hope and change” sans success, which are not demonstrated by actions and results, as yet, and the power of the “carrot” is diminished.  It is as if the Olympic commission is awarding the gold, silver and bronze medals before the actual outcome of competition.  It does not work anywhere except on the “dark side.”  The outcome for desired accomplishment will never replace the actual competition, reason, hard work, passion, common sense, a consensus and yes, most important, measured objective results.  Wake up America.  Saying we want to be first cannot be accomplished simply by a mandate of governmental rhetoric, it requires the leadership, hard work, free from burdensome unnecessary, oligarchy imposed, rules and regulations on private principled capitalism. Where has anything else really ever worked?  It is our unwillingness to fill in the “realities”optimistic frame, masterfully constructed by talented oratories, or of a marvelous State of the Union speech without the authenticity of results and common sense.  And if the philosophy and values of a principled Republic prevail, regardless, will the analysis be anything but a political “white paper?”  The appeasement of Wilton Norman Chamberlain will never replace the resolve of Dwight D. “Ike” Eisenhower, George Smith Patton, Jr. and Bernard Law Montgomery, 1st Viscount Montgomery of Alamein, regardless of their “prima donna” complexes.  One first must be ‘right” and then do “it.”

As when the media misery merchants were distorting the Tucson Rampage of January 2011 the real story of the Missouri Assassination attempt, the true story, the accurate story that did not fit their political template, was ignored, buried deep within the machinery of a corrupt and bias news media, was there a pause?  This is a systemic, malignant, national and global media prejudice, chauvinism, bigotry and narrow-mindedness.  Has anything changed?  And like 9/11 the memory fades, religious conversation is relegated back to denial, and with time we line up to be ushered into the crematoriums asking “How did we get here
again.”
