I would just like to post a short message on this Christmas Day. It will probably be the final post on this old format of “A Hollywood Republican.” We should be down for about 24 hours starting tomorrow and then we will return with a whole new format for all of you to enjoy
As you all know, today is Christmas Day. Ira, Craig and I would like to wish you and your family all of the best on this day and in the forthcoming year.
We know that that the past few years have been very difficult for everyone in this greatest country in the world. It truly is the Second Great Depression regardless of what our President may be saying. Hopefully, things will turn around and all of you out there, who are unemployed, are successful in your job hunt. Those of you that are behind in your mortgage payments, may you be able to catch up and remain in your homes. And to all of you who are fortunate to be going through this economic turndown without any financial difficulty, congratulations. May you remember those that are less fortunate and help them in any way you can.
Lastly, I wish that you all say a prayer for the troops in Afghanistan, Iraq and wherever else they may be serving. They give everything for our country, including, in some cases, their lives; the ultimate sacrifice. Think about them when you are enjoying your Christmas feast. Think about their families that are hoping they all will be together next Christmas. Remember, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” was written during World War II when all of our troops knew they would not be home except “only in my dreams.”
Again, Merry Christmas to all of you. And, we look forward to annoying you with our political ramblings in the next year and for many years to come.
