Former Press Secretary under George W. Bush, Dana Perino, made an interesting comment on Sean Hannity’s show last night. Perino suggested the best thing Obama could do to help Democrats one week prior to the elections is to stop talking for 48 hours. She was specifically referring to two recent comments made by our commander-in-chief that don’t necessarily seem, in her words, “very presidential”:
1. Obama made this remark during a speech this week in Rhode Island-
“(Republicans) can come for the ride, but they gotta a sit in the back”. This was in reference to Obama’s well-worn analogy of how Democrats have pulled the nation’s economy out of a “ditch” after taking the “wheel” from Republicans.
2. Obama’s speech to Latino voters on the Univision television network -
“If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, ‘We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us,’ if they don’t see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it’s gonna be harder and that’s why I think it’s so important that people focus on voting on November 2.”
Some might interpret the first quote has some type of racial segregation reference. I can give the president the benefit of a doubt, since he didn’t specifically mention the word “bus” at the end of his sentence. But the second quote is much more disturbing. Obama is now using terms such as “enemy” in describing American citizens and political opponents who may not agree with his agenda. That’s a very charged word, and is in stark contrast to the coom-by-ya statements he made as keynote speaker at the 2004 Democratic national convention in support of the Kerry/Edwards ticket:
“Now even as we speak, there are those who are preparing to divide us — the spin masters, the negative ad peddlers who embrace the politics of “anything goes.” Well, I say to them tonight, there is not a liberal America and a conservative America — there is the United States of America. There is not a Black America and a White America and Latino America and Asian America — there’s the United States of America.”
Analysis
The bipartisan mask used by Obama during his 2008 campaign was removed shortly after he took office. Now Americans have sobered to the real Obama, who is bitterly divisive and uses inflammatory language typically reserved for third world dictators. If that seems like a bit of an exaggeration, then consider these other statements made by our commander-in-chief. They all seem to draw from a theme of violence:
“A Republican majority in Congress would mean “hand-to-hand combat” on Capitol Hill for the next two years, threatening policies Democrats have enacted to stabilize the economy,” Obama, October 6, 2010
“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama in July 2008
“Here’s the problem: It’s almost like they’ve got — they’ve got a bomb strapped to them and they’ve got their hand on the trigger. You don’t want them to blow up. But you’ve got to kind of talk them, ease that finger off the trigger.” Obama on banks, March 2009
“It’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” Obama Town Hall in Pennsylvania April 11, 2008
“My administration is the only thing between you [CEO's] and the pitchforks.” Obama meeting with CEOs, April 3, 2009
Sorry, but those statements seem more appropriate for a South American dictator than for a United States President. Yes, Perino suggested the best thing Obama could do to help Democrats one week prior to the mid-term election is to stop talking for 48 hours. She’s probably right, but then the conservative in me wishes that our commander-in-chief would continue his daily oratory.
At least until Nov 2nd.

Oh….Obama won’t stop talking until the cane pulls him off the stage like in the vaudville days. He does look like a dictator because that how he sees himself. He knows better than all us Americans who are too stupid to see what a “savior” he is. The one good thing about Obama is he has awakened the American people to the real progressive agenda to transform us into a European style socialistic country. On Nov. 2 Mr. Obama’s plans will be reputiated and America can begin the healing process.
